General comments: I've had my icebreaker for about a year now, worn it regularly for walking, running, climbing, backpacking, in all weathers, underneath fleeces, merino mid layers, waterproofs, on its own, during the day, at night (in a sleeping bag) and it is brilliant...!!
I wouldn't buy another base layer which wasn't merino. It is certainly worth the money.
However it hasn't worn particularly well, its become stretched and baggy, the elastic in the hems has gone. But it still fits and I won't be getting rid of it, just relegating it to backup to another merino top...
Pros: Warm, good fit, never smells, washes well, dries quickly
Cons: Quite expensive (there are cheaper alternatives), not very robust (the elastic in the neck and cuffs went within 3 months)
