General comments: This is a nice jacket, perfect for hunting. I have tried one in the wet an windy mountains in the western part of Norway. I used the Berghaus Spectrum fleece under a military "recon jacket". As good as any mid-layer jacket I have owned. And I have owned a lot. High score on value for money.Comment on this review...

General comments: This is the second 'mid layer' fleece I've owned from Berghaus and again it's superb! does the job well, and when I've worn this out I'll get another.Comment on this review...

General comments: New style sleeves with the seem down the middle, makes the material ruck at the seam and also is very tight on the arm when worn with a base layer. Please change back to old style, as "Hubby" gets through 3 a year!Comment on this review...

General comments: The Berghaus Spectrum Jacket is an excellent product, I would reccomend this to any serious walker out there.Comment on this review...
Cons: For it being extra large I would have expected a little more room as an xxl would then be far too big, when are you going to cater for the bigger person not everybody has slim figures.

General comments: A good cheap fleece! Very warm and seems to be reasonably hard wearing. Use mine as a general all round coat and has done a good job for the past 2 years I've used it without any problems.
been washed a few times and not piled (i.e gone bobbly) so thats a good thing.
Also a baffle on the inside of the zip
The fabric isn't very windproof so that would be my only real concern, but at £40 I didn't really expect a top end windproof style fleece but it seems to serve my purpose reasonably well.
Pockets are fleece lined, so nice and cosy but pretty useless when you want to try putting a map in there, but that's not really what this jacket is about. It's a nice basic fleece at a very low price. Ideal for walking the dog or layering, not really as a softshell replacement! Overall for £40 I'm not complaing as it's much warmer than a Tesco fleece. I have no hesitation recommending it if you want a warm fleece as a coat for everyday use.Comment on this review...
Pros: Cheap. Warm. Baffle on zip so a bit warmer than normal. Seems reasonably hardwearing.
Cons: Not too windproof. Cut isn't very technical. Pockets not great except to warm hands. No hood. No toggle to adjust neck, i.e to pull it tight.
I'm being picky now!

General comments: Invest a few extra pounds for the Activity jacket made from Polartec fleece and you'll thank yourself in the long run. You can even get Regatta Polartec fleeces from TK Maxx for under £20. I know Regatta is seriously uncool, but you can always unstitch the branding! This Spectrum fabric is terrible. It feels ok for the first few washes and then it pills and bobbles everywhere and starts to feel like plastic. It just can't cope with normal low temp machine washing. I've got a cheap fleece from Debenhams which I've washed maybe 200 times and it still looks and feels great. This Spectrum was shaggy and old looking after 8 washes.
The fit is annoying tight through the sleeves. If you like sliding your sleeves up to your elbow sometimes, you will get very annoyed with this jacket.

Pros: There are too many better fleeces out there that are discounted to this price band all the time.
Cons: Poor fabric. Tight sleeves.
