MSR Titan Mini Cookset Reviews

General comments: The Titan mini cook set is the perfect way to shave pounds off your backpack weight, which i have found can be crucial when walking long distance. The titanium that the cookset is made from has many advantages other than being one of the lightest alloys around. The cookset is also super strong so when packed into a bulging rucksack, the pans dont get squashed and the lid doesent get bent and miss shapen as in man steel and aluminium pots. Although the heat transfer may not be as good as copper pots, it is good enough for a couple of weeks on the hill. As this is the new cookset that i have, the panhandle is different from the normal trangia style ones, in that it is tiny and also ligh weight titanium! Both the lid and the handle have a red coating that transfers almost no heat so no mor burning hands on the pan handle! Lastly, i think one of the best ways to save space in a rucksack is by fitting things inside other things and doing almos a jigsaw effect by slotting things into the most tiny spaces, and thats just what MSR have done by allowing a pocket rocket and an iso pro fuel canister to fit inside the cookset which i think is an ingenious idea.
Overall, a lovely product from a respected product manufacturer.
Pros: I love the light weight and strength of this cookset. also the panhandle design is a real bouns saving tonnes of weaigh and valuable space.
My real bounus is beang able to fit the pocket rocket inside. I have even been able to fit a dishcloth and washing up liquid aswel!
Cons: I do think it is a bit on the pricy side but as with all MSR products, you get what you pay for, and if you consider that it is titanium, you really cannot get the set much more cheeply.
Lastly, the heat exchange lacks abit, especailly when the water is near on boiling but this is eaisly solved by using a wind shield and maximising heat.

General comments: Super-lightweight 2 pan set.
Pans are a godo size and very light!
Pros: Very light and titanium is rock hard
Cons: When you've paid £80 or so you might expect the product to feel more 'substantial' but that would defeat the object wouldn't it?!
