General comments: i have this tent and it is the one i am currentley using, overall its an ok family tent, reasonably priced and serves it's purpose. overall i am happy with the tent and will continue to use it untill i get richer and or outgrow it. though am considering getting a smaller one for just me and one friend. i would suggest using this in good to average conditions for small familys or small groups.
Pros: the tent is reasonably priced and it has served me well for several years. it has a fair deal of space. i genrally use it for me and my daughter (she is 5 and we can put it up between us, at a push i can raise it myself). its fairly robust (with the excpetion of the wind problem), and has a fair amount or room and a drop down sheet in the centre to convert one room to two (which i use when away with my daughter, so can allow some privacy),
Cons: I took it out last year and it didnt cope very well in high (ish) winds and i had to add many extra guy ropes and that didnt really solve the problem. also the fixed ground sheet for the communal area doesnt fit very well but that may be particular to my tent rather than an iherant problem with the design. last but not least the front (rather than side) door doesnt sit fantastically and sometimes accumalates water at the very bottom (but that may be down to the wind problems i was having. though it is listed for 5/6 i have used it for friends and is more practical, if away for more than a few days, to keep it to four.

dave t responded : aha, my mistake guys, when i took the tent out to use it this weekend i realized its the vango 500 i have not 600 dlx.
still had the wind problems though..... (2007-07-09)
