A tremendous value backing tent, the Taurus 1 has enough room for two happy campers. An extended porch provides sufficient space for rucksacks or cooking gear.

General comments: I bought the Taurus 1 around 5 years ago to use on my DofE expeditions. It is an excelllent light little tent which can be erected in about 4 minutes by yourself that has travelled with me for over 200 miles and probably spent in excess of 100 nights out so far. The structure is suprisingly stable given it only has 2 poles and has coped amazing well in some very stormy conditions. The tent has several webbing tension adjusters which are very easy to use. Inside there is just about enough room for 2 tall men (6ft) with a few items scattered in but you will not find room for your bags. it is more often used as a one man and kit tent due ot this. There are 2 good sized pockets on either side of the door and a piece of cord runs along a section of the ceiling for hanging items up. THe porch is an OK size but not ideal to put your bag in as it is the only enty to the tent and so poses a fire hazard (for this reason I wouldn't advise cooking in the porch either.)
Sadly, you need to be on very flat ground otherwise the inner sags a lot making it very claustrophobic inside. Comment on this review...
Pros: Quick to pitch
Very strong in rough weather conditions
Cons: The inner can sag down a bit sometimes

General comments: I have used this tent at work for 3 and a bit years and has been out in some pretty poor conditions, it has never let in water or midges. the ground sheet is super light and very tough. the room/weight/cost ratio is pretty much unbeatable. I think it struggles in strong winds so you do need to think about where to pitch it, i found that door into the wind works best the long pole will flex in a strong side wind even with the guys in. i have only used it with me in it and it is super roomy, cooking, kit, drying, easy changing, full length mat Comment on this review...
Pros: space, light weight, very good in very wet conditions
Cons: poor in strong wind, but it is very light

General comments: I have used this tent for nine months in various weather conditions. The tent is my best friend since I tried it first time. Any time I go to Snowdonia, Lake and Highlands or any other places it comes always with me. So far I pitched it over 20 times and it never let me down. Sometimes it was really poor conditions, windy, wet and chilly, last time it was even very hard rain for three days and it always made me feel very comfortable. Few times I have used tent with my girlfriend and I can say it was ok, not perfect, but ok. I would say it was enough room for two but without our rucksacks which we kept in a car. I believe we could manage our stuff in however it could only give us a room for sleeping. I’d say the tent is ideal for one man with stuff and due to such a brilliant quality I would recommend this tent for anyone who requires best quality and reliability.Comment on this review...
Pros: Great quality, lightweight, simple to pitch, stable, price.
Cons: Not enough room for two with all stuff in.
