Fat Airic is a beast, you wouldn't really want to carry him around, but if you are going car camping it is the next best thing to your four poster bed!

General comments: It's big, and fairly heavy, so this is not for lugging up a mountain, but if you're in the car with no space restrictions or crashing at a freinds then it's OK. Looking at it, you wonder if it would have been easier to get a blow up mattress. However, have you ever tried blowing up a mattress, as you pass out from lack of breath. With this thing you can open the valves (yes two of them), leave and go for a beer (5mins). Come back, add a couple of breaths and off with the zzzzzzzzz

Pros: Comfy very, Price, delivery. Well made.

Cons: Heavy, very big, tendency to slide off.

General comments: I bought two of these mats earlier this year. What a revelation!!! Previously, I had used a Karrimat, then moved on to a thin Themarest mattress, both of these were not ideal, (I always woke up in the middle of the night with pins and needles or a dead arm, not comfy!) The Thermarest was a revelation over the Karrimat....but still crap for a good nights sleep! Onto Fat Airic, well, slept like a log, went to bed, woke up in the morning! Fantastically comfy, rolls up to a reasonable size, not too heavy, if backpacking would definately consider taking Airic with me! Onto Alpkit, what a great Company, quality kit, low price, they're customer care is fab, free next day deliver to boot!!

Pros: Good points..... comfort, quality, comfort and good backup. Excellent pricing. Did I mention the comfort?!?!

Cons: Bad points..... none.

General comments: Why wouldn't you love fat Airic? Ok he's a little on the tubby side, but he's built for comfort, not speed. Too be honest I'd rather carry the extra weight and have a good nights sleep, you wake up feeling refreshed. I took Airic to Norway for 2 weeks on a sea kayaking trip,in fact for sea kayakers he's the perfect partner because weight isn't really an issue. How my friends mocked me,he takes up half the front hatch of my kayak - but the laughing stopped on the first morning! I have pitched my tent on beaches made of boulders and pebbles, fired in Airic and been 100% comfortable all night.

Pros: It's a bed, forget the rest because once you've had fat you'll never go back

Cons: Getting up in the morning is never going to be easy
