General comments: this is a very solid and reliable tent, me & the wife went up walna scar 3weeks ago, the weather was boucing down with rain & very high winds, it took about 10min`s to put up & there`s loads of room for cooking in the porch out of the elements.
i don`t want paying for this
Pros: very waterproof & solid
Cons: not found any yet but will let you know if i do

General comments: I have used my Vango Spirit 300+ on a single camping trip to date whilst surfing in the Gower.
I choose thsi model originally for 2 person cycle touring, with a view to storing the bike inside the porch for security (with front wheel first removed). Haven't found time to tour yet though. I think for one person, a Sprit 200+ would be lighter still and plenty big enough (not sure about fitting the bike in though!)
It isn't that easy to put up, if doing it single handed That could just have been my lack of modern tunnel tent experience though. Once up, it is a brilliant piece of kit offering luxury accomodation for one and very appointed for two.
Can be put up outer first if raining hard.
Huge porch makes it easy to get wet kit and boots off before entering the inner sanctum. Inner tension band system wasn't really needed on my trip despite windy conditions but a play with it threw up no obvious problems and I guess it could be very handy if it gets very gusty.
I don't want paying for this review
Pros: Massive Porch, inner cabin ventilation flap with insect grill. Tension band System. Light weight, Low Price.
Cons: Poles could easier to insert and get out later, varying and complex (to me) fixtures and fittings for guying down.

General comments: This is the classic DofE tent that is widely used now; I think they said in the store room ‘because it is bombproof’ for their reason for letting kids go up to the tops with hundreds of pounds of tents, and I have to say, they were right. This may not be the super lightweight mountain tent that many people are after but what this tent is great for is a spring, summer and autumn of camping in valleys in all weathers except snow. The tunnel design of this tent means that it is larger than many tents with the same floor space due to the extra head height, and the guy ropes help pull the tent out maximising space and also making sure the tent stays dry in all weathers as the fabric just bounces rain off when taught. I did think the tent was a bit heavy for two people, but when the recommended three people share the load, it is the perfect tent, especially as a base camp tent for the likes of climbers where a big porch is also needed to store ropes and gear. I have even herd of someone fitting a bike into the porch and using it for touring around France which is also perfect for this tent if you can fit it in the panniers. Overall a good sturdy tent 6/10.
Pros: Good points on this tent are the quick pitch ability, as with practice, the tent can be up in 5 minutes. Also, the fly sheet can be pulled quite taught protecting you from puddles forming on top. Lastly, the space is a real bonus allowing 3 people to fit comfortably with gear in a super sized porch.
Cons: I don’t like the weight on this tent, and I also find that if you don’t get the air out, it can be hard to pack away. As with many vango tents, the waterproofing will not stop a torrent of water for a prolonged period of time so this needs to be made aware of.
There are not really that many bad things about this tent however, as the design is simple, there is really not much to go wrong!!
