Wild Country New Ilanos Reviews

General comments: I took this tent to Iceland with me last year in May. It was light enough to carry in the rucsac while travelling all the way from Aberdeen to Iceland by ferry. It can be pitched in about 5 minutes, blue and red colour coded poles help, and when its fully guyed out it was very stable. Iceland was pretty windy! For one there is plenty of room, two may find it a squeeze, but there is plenty headroom. I would probably be happy taking this tent backpacking in Scottish winter if it was pitched with care (it's not really for pitching on the tops) , and the weight would be fine split between two. However there is just the one porch. The build quality is superb for a tent of this price, pegging points are very sturdy, and guylines are good strong cord. The only shortfall is that is weighs a bit more than the two man Terra Nova, North Face etc. tents, but it can be picked up for a lot cheaper than those!
It doesn't pack down too small either, but split between two it would probably be ok.
On the whole it's a stonking tent for the money, that I would consider could handle 4 season with care. Highly reccommended.
Pros: Price, build quality, stability
Cons: weight, packed size
