General comments: I bought a pair of these boots by accident when I was shopping for a new pair of boots to replace my ancient Brashers. My main reason for buying them was the fit. They were the only pair I tried which held my heal securely without feeling too tight around the ankle. As I used them I found that the comfort was very good with no need for bedding in at all. I was impressed with the lightness & in my first walks over dry stony paths in the Dales & Lakes I was very happy with the combination of lightness and a sturdy stiff feel.
This changed when I tried them in wet conditions. Despite a claimed waterproof liner I found the boots less effective at keeping out water than a pair of open toed sandles. Very disappointing. If I could have remembered where I had put the receipt I would have taken them back!
I still use them for dry Summer use & they are wearing well.
I have bought another pair of Brashers for wet weather use.
Pros: They are cheap, very light, yet sturdy & seem to take punishment without scuffing. If allowed to dry it is very easy to clean off mud with a brush & have the boots looking like new again very quickly.
Cons: Definitely not waterproof. They seem to be getting rather smelly in the way old trainers do as I use them more.
