General comments: Extremely handy for being able to stuff at the bottom of your bag no matter whether it's just a short day trip or a three day tramp. Because they are so light and pack so small they're no bother to carry which means you generally always have them when you need them! Nice fit - full length zips up the side are definitely a must for getting on and off over boots, and the wee scrunch sack is handy for getting them to pack up really small. They are NOT robust however. Watch out for clambering over rocks - by the very nature that they are lightweight - they will tear reasonably easy. In my own experience too I'm not sure whether they don't breathe as well as they could do (and hence their is condensation building up inside) or whether in continuous exposure there is some leakage. Overall very good for general hill walking.
Pros: Fantastically small and lightweight to carry "just in case". Full length zips are excellent, including "venting" option when it starts to get warm.
Cons: They're not tough and will tear reasonably easily if you catch them on anything sharp.

General comments: t is often a problem deciding which waterproofs to take out in summer. I have a pair of more robust trousers ready for anything approaching stormy weather but I find them too much for the warmer months. I did have a pair of Mountain Hardwear Epic trousers which provided great comfort, fit and waterproofness but being paper thin, got suitably wrecked on a stile crossing. Rather than go down that route again I opted for these as they were on sale at Gear-zone. They are very light weight but feel somewhat more robust than the mountain Hardwear Epics. The fit is very good being for the female form and I must admit they don’t make me feel like I am wearing two bin bags on my legs. They have a new micro seem taping which is meant to improve the breathability by reducing the area used in taping. The zips on both legs come just to below the knees and make getting boots on no problem at all. These zips have duel openings so you can vent either from the bottom or the top. There is no adjustment on the waist other than elastic but at this price I cannot complain. You also get a little stuff sack to store the trousers in. These usually sit in the bottom of my rucksack during the spring and summer months, a great back–up waterproof trousers
Pros: the fit is good, very light weight and packs down small
Cons: would mind some waist adjustment and longer leg zips.
