General comments: TNF Radial is a competitively priced entry level trail show which suits minor off-road running and scrambling. I purchased a pair (the grey, red and black variation are very fetching) in the United States recently and beasted them about California. Being a large gent I use Brooks Beast for my day to day running needs, however I was pleased to discovered that the motion control element in the Radial is adequate in comparison.
The Radial is light and well constructed but does not offer the performance of trail shoes produced by more established footwear manufacturers. It lacks, for instance, gel sections in the sole unit which I personally require for sustained activities. The mesh upper is highly breathable and durable while the outsole is flexible with adequate grip.
The Radial was fine when the pace was slow to medium and the terrain far from treacherous. In harsher conditions I was not at ease with the control it offered.
For a trail shoe which I purchased for the equivalent of £45 I would heartily recommend it to the lighter runner who is looking for good performance at a reasonable price. Anyone thinking of purchasing the Radial should also consider spending a few pounds more on the Hedgehog which offers XCR waterproofing and what looks to be a more rugged sole.
Pros: Good price, good looking and performs minor tasks well.
Cons: Blown away by it's bigger and better conpetitors

General comments: I got these radials a few months ago to replace a pair of Merrells which were a bit heavy for wearing around all day and have been really pleased with them so far. The were comfy straight away but as with all my shoes I have replaced the original insoles with Superfeet. I was impressed by the weight and the excellent breathability offered by the mesh upper (of course this is a drawback in wet conditions as the shoes will swamp pretty quickly, but I would recommend a pair of Hedgehogs for wet weather stuff) They are quite a wide and high volume shoe, but I have managed to lace them to suit my narrow low volume feet well which is a testament to the amount of flexibility available through the lacing system. I have found them to be a good fit both for running and walking and have found them supportive enough to run off road in. The sole is good enough to cope with this kind of abuse too and seems to be wearing quite well so far.. As outdoor shoes go, they look pretty good too.
Pros: Weight, fit, breathability, looks
Cons: Probably a little pricey at the RRP but apart from that no complaints.
