The Paclite Retract jacket from Berghaus is light enough to be easily stowed in the bottom of your rucksack until needed. The material used is both waterproof and breathable - ideal for any fast moving outdoor activity. The hood has also been well-designed and turns well with the head.

General comments: I purchased this jacket about a month ago and must admit that I thought it was a bit expensive for something so apparently light and flimsy feeling. I WAS WRONG. This jacket has kept me dry hiking around Snowdon on wet and windy days. I used to take a windshirt and a waterproof jacket for when the heavens really opened but this jacket is so tiny when packed that I use it as a wind stopper as well as an excellent waterproof jacket. The hood works fine, the zips are good quality and when packed it fits into my backpack side pocket ready for action. This is a must for the lightweight hiker/mountaineer.
I will only know in time how it holds up to abrasion from my pack rubbing on my shoulders but it's fine so far.
Pros: Very light. Well made. Waterproof and breathable.
