General comments: I bought this for Jo when we were skiing in Vermont and having the pleasure of $2 to the pound! It's part of the North Face Summit series and as such commands the premium prices but also delivers a premium package. It's a close fitting jacket made of stretchy fabric and gore tex. It's got a really good hood that seals well around the head and is large enough to expand and fit her climbing helmet. So far it's seen plenty of snow in vermont and passed with flying colours. (she's new to skiing so frapped in plenty of times!) It's also been up Helvellyn recently and stood up to driving rain and 80mph gusts. Has plenty of scope for adjustments but comes with an internal water bottle pocket that just doesnt seem right! with a sigg in it she complained of feeling lopsided. overall though it's a well made coat, 100% dry so far in some amazing rain so we're happy.
Pros: dry, waterproof, hardwearing so far, good hood.
Cons: internal water bottle pocket, cost if bought in UK
