General comments: This soft-shell jacket was an excellent buy. I have had it for about 6 months and use it so much. Soft shell has many advantages for walking and climbing, and it generally allows you to wear the same top for a multitude of activities. Generally speaking I found it most useful when it was in temperatures above freezing, and that it was not to wet. This jacket did stand up to cold weather, but didn’t perform as well as hard shells. The actual jacket is well constructed, with pockets in all the right places, 2 external and 1 inner. It is quite waterproof, so you may not need to carry a hard shell on some days out, and will last you ages. I find that it is best used with just a base layer, as I find this jacket very warm, especially if you like to get a move on around the hills. Recently new softshell jackets have been realised, and some are far superior to this. The Manticore jacket from Mountain Hardwear is just one example I know of. This jacket can now be picked up in the sales for a sensible price for a softshell. Give it a go.
Pros: Excellent buy. good fit, durable and all year round use
Cons: Its a bit outdates. New jackets offer better features

General comments: This is generally a good jacket. I use it for cycling, climbing and hill walking as well as day to day use. It is comfortable but not very warm, it works well as part of a layering system though for those colder days. I would like to see a bit tougher fabric used for the outer as i have managed to rip mine with not very much force at all and i would personally prefer a bit of a longer cut in the torso.
Pros: Very lightweight
Cons: Durability.
