The Coolmax excels at drawing moisture away from the skin, leaving the feet dry from sweat. They can be worn on their own as a lightweight summer sock, or as a wicking layer for additional walking comfort. These socks could seriously prevent the onset of blisters! General comments: I am actually a professional gardener, so if you think about it you'll understand that I walk lots of miles every week of the year. That's why my feet are important to me. Socks matter, and I have 4 pairs of coolmax liners. It's important for me to wear liners because they allow the thicker out sock to move over your foot properly. The coolmax are plenty warm enough as a liner for all seasons of the year at ground level. Just adjust the thickness or technical performance of the out sock between summer and winter. I haven’t tired any other brands because these seem to work very well – believe that I’ve bought a quality product.
Pros: Superb quality sock - my father ran a sock factory for 25 years, so I should know. These liners last and last and considering their thinness, they take ages to wear a hole in – I’ve tried. They fit well and snugly and don't stretch much even after lots of use. Wash and dry without any trouble. Toe looped finish makes them very comfortable.
Cons: Possibly not so good from a fungal infection point of view. Slightly naff ankle markings with black bands and coolmax logos (don't show normally).

General comments: I have worn Bridgedale Coolmax liners at work and at play for the last two years or more and I think they're great. They keep my feet warm and prevent damage to the outer sock (and my feet) at wear points. They wash and dry overnight, retaining their comfort and stretch.
I've been a fan of wearing two pairs of socks for many years and these are much better than cheapies or even Helly Hansen socks, the latter soon becoming 'hard' with washing. I originally bought them as black 'dress socks' for use in Africa but they've been in use as working inner socks ever since. For most purposes, I just wore cheap wool/acrylic socks from the cash-and-carry as outer socks and the Bridgedale inners extended their life amazingly. These inner socks keep my feet cool when it's hot and warm when it's not as well as aiding hygeine by eliminating sweating and being easy to wash.
One tip I would offer is to wear them inside out as liners in order to put the seams on the outside.
Pros: Hard-wearing, low maintenance, look good on their own
Cons: None really
