Petzl Tactikka Plus Torch Reviews

General comments: After spending years taping over the end of a torch and using a pin hole of light, colouring in bits of torches black and green and making my own red filters, finally Petzl made the torch I had been waiting years for! However, you won't realise how useful the Petzl Tactikka Plus head torch is if you've never been in the military.
In all round black, the body is great for tactical purposes (though don't drop it in the dark), the strap could be better if petzl had used green or grey as the colour for the writing rather than white.
The red filter is good and doesnt have any cracks of white round the edge to mess up your night vision. I like the fact it has several different settingd for light emission, which is good for battery life and also for staying Tactical on a patrol or in a harbour area. The batteries do also last a really long time which is great and the whole thing is really lightweight, doesn't cope too badly with a rain shower and is small enough to keep handy all the time.
Pros: The Petzl Tactikka Plus has a well thought out design, good battery life.
Cons: Wish the writing on the strap was some colour less obvious than white!

General comments: Great little headtorch, light and gives a reasonable amount of light. If you're navigating, would probably spend a few quid extra and get the Myo XP.
Pros: Light, good entry level, ideal when you know the way.
Cons: Not great for night navigation.
