SmartWool keeps you warm when it's cold out but what you might not realise is that it will also keep you cooler and dryer in warm conditions. SmartWool absorbs moisture naturally in its vapour state than uses your own body heat to evaporate that moisture eliminating the breeding ground for stinky bacteria. This award winner is SmartWool's best all-round hiking and outdoor sock. A good all-purpose three-season outdoor sock designed for rugged day hikes or lightweight backpacking. Features:- Medium weight cushioning throughout the sock provides protection against blisters on the foot and lace pressure on the instep. Elasticized arch brace helps keep the sock in place and adds arch support. High Density Footbed (HDF) for improved performance comfort and durability. | Site | Price | Postage | Total |

General comments: I have bought a couple of pairs of SmartWool Hiking and a pair for trekking. I find these by far the best hiking socks; they keep my feet warm and not hot! They wick moisture quick enough so my feet never feel wet and uncomfortable. They go well with my Karrimor ksb300 hiking boots; I’ve worn my SmartWool with trainers and even tried them in my snowboarding boots. Ok, don’t wear them for skiing or snowboarding, because SmartWool has a snowboarding version! These simply will not be giving you enough cushioning. But they are very suitable for hikes! They are warm and comfy even for winter hikes; I also wear my pair during winter lounging around the sofa.
Pros: Wicks moisture, keep temperature right, extremely comfortable to wear
Cons: A pair of SmartWool will serve you well, but like all wool clothing and items, they do wear thin and not as fluffy after some heavy uses (3 years for me!).
