General comments: I bought the Suunto Core when they were new out and actually ended up sending it back to warranty within a few months (although this was a battery problem) I still think the features of the watch are great and hope that the stories I have heard about them going wrong a lot aren't true...
The features on this Suunto watch are really clever and really well thought out. One of my favourite features is the Sunrise/Sunset times which can be set for whatever major city you're in (some aren't pre programmed but you can work it out off latitude), it's really useful for knowing when you need to start thinking of setting up camp for the night before you lose the light. Or for those military folks among you, is always handy for knowing first and last light in the field.
The ability to switch automatically from Barometer to Altimeter is clever and means you'll know if bad weather has been moving in overnight. Talking of the barometer, the storm alarm has been useful to me several times now (it goes off if there is a significant drop in pressure during a certain timeframe) and I love the little arrows which allow you to track the pressure trends over the past 6 hours when you're in the time mode.
The face is big, too big for some peoples liking but it's good when you want to check the time at a quick glance in less than favourable weather conditions. Also, the back light is good and easy to read.Comment on this review...
Pros: Great features make the Suunto Core a really useful watch.
Easy to use.
Cons: Heard horror stories about how often they need to be returned, I have already sent mine back once.

General comments: I bought the Suunto Core watch for my 25th birthday primarily because I rely on my mobile for time keeping day to day and I needed a watch for when I'm hiking and running. I went for the CORE because of the A,B,C features and the added extras like sunrise/sunset.Comment on this review...
Pros: The oversized watch face gives room for loads of information to be displayed at a glance. The A,B,C features work well and the programming is not that complicated. I have worn the watch every day for 5 months and the face has not picked up a scratch which is great.
Cons: Unfortunately after three months one of the buttons malfunctioned. At the moment three buttons have stopped working and I am in the process of sending it back to be fixed. This is a real disappointment because I think this is such a useful watch. It is that well styled that it sits on my shelf in my room given the oversized face it would look great as a wall clock.
I hope the watch repair lasts and that I can get years out of my watch.
