It's going to take a lot to beat this jacket - the Rab Summit Batura is designed for battening down the hatches in the most grim weather imaginable. The inner of the Summit Batura is a top quality down jacket - the type Rab are famous for. It boasts over 300 grams of goose down for unbeatable warmth and insulation. Capping this off with an outer shell manufactured from 100% waterproof pertex material means the Rab Summit Batura down jacket is a serious piece of kit.

General comments: Myself and my fiance actual both have these Rab Summit Batura jackets (and in the same colous, how sad is that) but we got them for a REALLY good price as someone had drawn on them in permanent marker in the shop!
This year we took them on an exped and they really were fantastic. I've always been a fan of Rab down jackets and this one performed as well as I had hoped it would. When you are at a belay stance and it's 35 below this is the jacket to have, trust me! The warmth is unbelievable, I've used the TNF Himalayan and thought this beat it hands down. The fact that it's actually waterproof is also a plus point over that competitor.
One of the best things about it is the design of the hood. It has a MASSIVE amount of insulation in it, accomodates a helmet with ease and closes right down at the front so only your eyes are exposed to the elements. The wired peak helps everything stay in the right place too.
Although the Rab Summit Batura jacket has 4 pockets, don't expect to warm your hands in them though as they are on the outside of the down filled bit... There are also two internal mesh pockets for those who like to keep their water bottle in there to prevent freezing. The whole thing stuffs down smaller than you would imagine into it's own stuff sack.
Pros: Warmth like no other jacket I've ever tried, great hood
Cons: Wish it had a handwarmer pocket but this might be something to do with the fact that if you leave it open by accident then the rain would get into the down baffles.
