General comments: These socks are the difference between being able to walk after a day in my Scarpa Mantas or not. I wear them with a Thorlo coolmax liner sock in winter or whenever I wear the Scarpas and I have found them to be spot on. They keep my feet warm in the cold and they have stopped me getting blisters with the boots. Being mostly wool has not stopped them being chucked in the washing machine with the rest of my dirty gear and they have stood up to that well. Still the same size, shape and colour. I would recommend wearing them with the liner socks and then you can get a few days use out of them without washing. A fine pair of socks.

Pros: Warm, comfy and they don't smell too bad.

General comments: I wore these with Scarpa Mantas during a months expedition to East Greenland. They were very comfortable to wear and kept my feet fairly warm (when you are freezing to the ice anyway that is quite a feat). I wore them with a thin pair of cotton socks and found the extra padding very useful. I wore them without washing them for the whole month and while they could stand up on their own afterwards they were still comfortable to wear and better condition than some of the other brands. They were washed on normal settings and didn't shrink at all.

Pros: Warm and very comfortable.

Cons: None that I can think of.
