The Vango Alpha 400 is a 4 man tent with a porch - ideal for family camping trips. The inner-first pitching is made simple by use of colour coded poles. Once up, the Alpha 400 is stable in wind thanks to poles which manage to balance strength and flex. This tent offers great value for money and it even comes with a repair kit for emergencies.

Vango Alpha 400 Tent

   Vango Alpha 400 Tent Reviews

Reviewed by John Bolland (Northants) on 2009-03-15:
General comments: I'd never bought a tent before & so was reluctant to spend a great deal of money on one, to be honest. We have 3 sons & needed a four man tent - my wife having made it quite clear that she would not be coming camping, however briefly! We bought the Vango Alpha 400 just for overnight stays in the Peak District & North Wales & were not disappointed even at such a cheap price. It took us a while to figure out how to put this tent up initially in the garden, but with practice we have become quite slik at it. The construction is durable & seams are well stiched & then sealed. The poles are flexible & easy to put up & then take down afterwards. The tent has been a great success for our brief trips so far & I am very pleasantly surprised. To be honest in view of our infrequent needs I would wholeheartedly recommend this tent. It easily fits myself & 3 young sons & all of our kit & bags. The base is very waterproof. I cannot see the point in spending hundreds of pounds on a tent unless you are going to use it a lot, & even then I'm not sure what extra you get for your money.

Pros: If you are looking for fun, occasional use of a tent, I would recommend the Alpha 400!

Cons: A bit heavy to lug around too much.
