The Berghaus Explorer Ridge GTX is a new addition to the Berghaus Explorer family. Featuring a leather upper, the Ridge GTX is a good choice for walkers who like a more traditional boot rather than those new fangled fabric things. As with the other Explorer models, the Berghaus Explorer Ridge is as comfy as a pair of old slippers while also being hard wearing. The Goretex lining ensures your feet stay dry when the path turns boggy.

General comments: just bought these boots and have found them an excellent fit ( size 11), having done two hillwalks of between 2000 &2500ft they have proved to be strong and supportive. hope to get many years walking with them.
Pros: they feel much stronger and supportive than my explorer treks (they have also been good boots for easier hillwalks -treks that is )
Cons: none so far, although on a personal level I would have prefered them to be slightly wider, I have a bunion

General comments: Very comfortable. No wearing in needed
Pros: really comfortable
Cons: I've had two pairs of this boot. after 6 weeks walking in UK over easy terrain, the left boot started to let in water where the sole is joined to leather.
after 4 weeks wearing a second pair, water started to come in where the sole is joined to the leather. This time the right boot.

Pros: very comfortable, as always with Berghaus boots
Cons: Appalling grip in the wet - worst I have ever encountered! Definitely a dry-weather boot!

General comments: Great Value walking boots very water proof and the biggest point of all...they're super comfy. A pleasure to walk in. Very warm and soft feel inside, the sole unit is not too stiff.
Pros: Good £, Well made, comfy, waterproof, reasonably lightweight.
Cons: No Vibram sole unit! Sole does not grip well on frozen ground. Lugg design needs to be more aggressive.

General comments: Very comfortable and required no breaking in, So far have been totally waterproof and don't cause sweaty feet. The only complaint I've had with them was that they have virtually no grip on wet rocks.
Cons: Poor grip on wet rocks
