Vango Omega 350 Reviews

General comments: took this tent camping in the pembrokeshire while camping on top of monkstone point cliff near tenby. we got battered for three days ans nights with strong winds and constant driving rain but omega 350 stood up fantastically. inner is sewn into the outer so no need to pitch both seperately. 3 pole system is simple and fast to pitch and there's a nice big porch to store all your gear. packs down quite small too, it's not too heavy.
Pros: strong, very waterproof, roomy
Cons: would like to see the poles thread though the outer all the way to the bottom like some of the more expensive vango tents. minor gripe.

General comments: The poles snapped on mine after three weks use, in normal weather conditions in the south of France.
Got my money back from supplier as I had to purchase a Quechua T3 from Decathlon in Toulon to replace the Vango in the middle of my holiday. The poles just snapped at the joints.
The poles are just too flimsy and must be arched to breaking point to fit in the pegs at either sides of the tent. The Quechua was great and slightly cheaper although it hasn't got a groundsheet in the awning area. Much better and sturdier poles though, and the tent is just as light.
The Vango titanium pegs, although ultra light, won't enter stony ground so beware. The "square section" lime yellow aluminium pegs are the best I have tried, but they cost £1 each.
