General comments: While i was in my local gear shop i saw these and thought that they would be great to keep in my bag and use when needed. I have been out many times and each and every time I've reached into my bag to use these I've been disapointed. Not a single one has worked as they are supposed to. I wasn't expecting huge amounts of heat but something would have been nice. These just don't work in my experiance. Maybe i had already accidently set them off in my bag but if so then be very carefull with them as it must mean that the slightest movement sets them off.
Pros: If you can get them to work then they are probably quite useful!
Cons: Not worth getting i feel. Save up the money you would spend on them and buy a better set of gloves.

General comments: That's happened to me twice but both times in cold wet weather. When I tried them at the end of a warm day last summer (to warm the sleeping bag as night fell), they fired up just fine and stayed warm for almost two days. The problem here should be clear. If it's cold and wet (i.e. when you actualy need them) they don't seem to work.
The tip is to break them open at the start of the day in a warm and dry environment. They last for ages so don't leave 'em until you need 'em. That said, the heat generated by flapping the bags around in extreme frustration also solves the problem.
Pros: Genuinely impressive if you've figured out the secret of getting them to work...Great for snowsports and they cost buttons.
Cons: The instructions don't tell you what the secret is...

General comments: Use them in my Charly hot Liner paragliding gloves. The gloves alone are good to about 5 degrrees with the windchill, Below that the heaters make all the differance, cosy as toast, so good the wife borrows them to go skiing
Pros: ah, the heat
Cons: not experienced it yet
