The latest evolution of La Sportivas classic Nepal Extreme mountain boot, this version is ideal for technical usage on high elevation terrain and icefields. La Sportiva has included an insulating Gore-Tex Duratherm lining to keep your feet warm, dry and comfortable regardless of your surroundings. The Nepal Evos technical 3-D Flex System hinge allows free multidirectional movement of the ankle, while still supplying sufficient support and stability to handle rugged terrain. The levels of comfort and control offered by this boot are enhanced by the anatomical cuff at the rear and elasticated snow gaiter. The Nepal Evo features an innovative suspension system in its sole to soften impacts, absorb shock and improve comfort on difficult ascents and arduous routes. La Sportiva Nepal Evo GTX Reviews
Reviewed by Jon Maskill (Yorkshire) on 2009-10-16:
General comments: Well designed boot that is easy to adjust to give an ankle and foot hugging fit. For winter mountaineering they're great - absorb all the knocks and provide a rigid support for crampons. I use Grivel G12 new matics and the boot clings to them as if they were welded on. I've tried using them for non-winter walking with little success. They're just too rigid and warm for anything that's not frozen and vertical. That said, I know a guy who did the Lyke Wake walk in a pair! Personally, I would class them as a strictly winter mountaineering boot too firm and warm for much outside of this. Whether the gore tex makes much difference I cannot really say
Pros: Fantastic support.
Take crampons better than any other boot I've ever used.

Cons: Expensive
