LifeVenture Travel Clothes Line Reviews
Reviewed by Gavin Macfie (Inverness) on 2006-01-20:
General comments: The LifeVenture travel clothes line is a classic example of the type of product that panicking first time backpackers will invest in just before they depart. Unlike mosquito nets this isn't a product that can be picked up for a fraction of the cost once you reach your destination, and if you plan to wash your clothes frequently in guesthouse sinks it will come in very handy. Frankly I avoid the whole issue of washing smalls on the road by not wearing any undercrackers and having my trousers laundered every fortnight or so, but if you are more fastidious about your personal hygeine this product could be for you.
Pros: This is a well designed product. The elasticated cord and handy hooks can be erected in most spaces. The springiness of the elastic is just right, enough to keep it taught and even with a few garments loaded on the amount of sag is acceptable. The ability to thread garments through the twists in the elastic means that it can be used outdoors or on verandahs without any fear of your clothes blowing away. There is no need to carry clothes pegs, but anyone that would consider carrying clothes pegs on a backpacking trip needs their head looked at.
Cons: You can easily do without this product, but it doesn't weigh or cost much and it is quite useful.
