Lightweight, waterproof, super breathable technical jacket, ideal for fast moving mountaineers, trekkers or climbers. The Montane eVent® Evolution Jacket is the successor to the award winning and iconic Super-Fly Jacket; it is designed for fast moving outdoor activities where supreme breathability and low weight are the key criteria in a waterproof jacket. Combining two different eVent® fabrics to trim unnecessary weight and featuring a helmet hood, mesh ventilated pockets and an exposed, water-resistant main zip it is clearly a fully functional piece of kit. The breathability of the eVent® Evolution Jacket is unsurpassed by any other waterproof technology on the market today and when the additional features of a chest security pocket, adjustable cuffs with rubberised tabs and subtle reflective detailing are considered, this has to be the ideal choice for fast moving mountaineers, backpackers or climbers. Montane Event Evolution Jacket Reviews
Reviewed by Luke Myatt (Aberdeenshire) on 2011-03-08:
General comments: I got this jacket about 2 years ago. I like it. It is really lightweight, I don't notice the weight at all. And it is thoughtfully designed, you can still use the pockets quiet easily even if you have bag or a harness on. For the most part I have found this jacket to stand up-to the weather really well. The only exception was during a weekend camping trip (in the Cairngorms), when for 48 hours we had constant rain. After which I was completely soaked, and every piece of equipment I had was soaked too (even the ducks looked fed up of the rain after that). I find that I don't overheat or sweat to badly in this jacket. It seems to be holding up well and not showing signs of wear and tear.
Pros: Lightweight, tough construction, good practical design, breathable
Cons: Zip sticks occasionally (which can be annoying),
