General comments: These cheapish gloves perform well as a windproof outer. They are pretty grippy and work reasonably on rock, pole handles, ice axe handles etc. What they are definitely not is very waterproof! I'm not sure whether this is a general glove problem, in the sense that anything that exposed to water whether it is through touching ice, snow or being rained on can ever be very waterproof, but they should at least stay warm when wet. Unfortunately I can't say that these do that either.
Having said all this, I've had good days using them and my hands have been pretty warm, but this has been when it wasn't raining and any snow wasn't slushy!
Pros: Cheap, simple, grippy, windproof.
Cons: Not waterproof enough, not warm when wet.

General comments: Warm and good fit, good grip on palm but I agree they are not really waterproof.
I also have a pair of Mountain Equipmant mitts of similar constructiion and they are also a bit dubious in heavy rain!
Pros: Good fit and cuff,warm
Cons: Dissapointing regarding waterproofing
