A dedicated belaying karabiner which features an integral moulded nylon swing catch to keep the Belay Master fixed securely in place. This eliminates the possibility of the karabiner rotating and being subjected to dangerous cross-loading. It is impossible to shut the catch unless the gate is fully screwed up. Gate Open:7 kN, Gate Closed:25 kN. Gate Opening: 24 mm. Weight: 100 gms | Site | Price | Postage | Total |

General comments: Great beginners belaying krab - as advertised, it's pretty hard to forget to lock it up, and equally impossible to cross-load it. However, the plastic catch restricts its versatility - about a year after buying it I ripped mine off, leaving a perfectly serviceable, if heavy, locking carabiner. The cross-link also looks like it unduly stresses the wire loop of belay devices like the ATC when loaded (e.g., lower-off, abseil).
Fine for basic double rope work too, but you wouldn't want to be doing anything other than indoor or cragging with this - the possibilities for tying off and freeing yourself from belay are heavily reduced by the small size of the end.
Pros: Good beginner's belay krab. Very kind to your ropes due to fully rounded cross-section. Impossible to cross-load. Can be converted into a regular locking crab by ripping off the crosspiece, if you want to...
Cons: Heavy. No good for multipitch stuff or anything involving the rope going more than once through the krab.
