General comments: This is one tough and capable pack. The pack is loaded with nicely thought out and truly useful details The rucksack seems virtually impervious to anything I dish out to it. Scrambles, falls, rocks and snow all leave it totally unaffected. A little soap and water and the pack looks as good as new. The Air back has proven to be a wonder. Feeling a cool breeze waft across my back, with a backpack on, is a real treat! I do have to dress properly to maximize its benefits, but the concept really does work! Getting to a summit in warm, or even cool, weather with a dry back is wonderful. I suspect I will like this aspect even more during winter as having dry, sweat-free clothing in the winter becomes more than just a comfort issue. The pack is probably a little bit of overkill for my typical downright minimalist summer day hike, but I might be inclined to use it anyway and pack a proper picnic blanket and other goodies because the carry is so comfortable! The pack's forte would appear to be cooler weather outdoor work, including hiking, mountaineering or cross country skiing, where minimal gear is carried. It will certainly become a mainstay on my gear list for these activities.
